Alay Kapwa for Filipino Families affected by Typhoon Rai
This is an Easter season fundraising extension.
Santo Nino Leicester has been receiving donations during the Lent season 2022 via these channels:
• GoFundMe (click hyperlink)
• or contact Peter Zabala by leaving a message at our contact us page or to our FB page to make other arrangements.
We are supporting Caritas Philippines to fund their Alay Kapwa [offering of oneself to one’s neighbor] Program's 400 million pesos Early Recovery Project that aims to provide shelter, livelihoods and training to more than 10,000 families from the eleven affected dioceses in Palawan, Negros Occidental and Oriental, Cebu, Southern Leyte, Bohol and Surigao victimised by typhoon #RaiPH (#OdettePH).
OurGoal is at least to be able to fund 1 house (worth approx P75,000 or approx £1,120). And if we will be able to collect more than that (depending on people's compassionate generosity), then we collectively shall be able to fund livelihood project(s) too.
May many generous and compassionate hearts respond favourably to the Holy Spirit's call of not leaving behind our unfortunate sisters and brothers in Christ in their time of need. May we, who have been blessed and shown mercy by God, gratefully share our blessings and be merciful like the Father.

Statement of Support:
Leicester's Alay Kapwa for Typhoon Rai victims
Santo Niño Leicester has always been fundraising in the past during our January Fiesta Señor celebrations for various charities. But the majority of these fundraising have been for the benefit of our fellow kababayans affected by big calamities back home in the Philippines. This year we have supported CBCP Caritas Philippines following the example of UK's Catholic Agency for Overseas Development (CAFOD) -- also a member of Caritas Internationalis -- who have sent aid for Typhoon Odette victims via Caritas Philippines. Responding to the request to extend our fundraising to the season of Lent, we hope and pray to widen the scope of our fundraising beyond our association to give opportunity to our extended friends and other connections to give practical love and charity in the spirit of Lent. But most importantly, we shall pray for the success of Caritas Philippines' Alay Pag-asa fundraising campaign that many generous and compassionate hearts may respond favourably to the Holy Spirit's call of not leaving behind our unfortunate sisters and brothers in Christ in their time of need. May we who have been blessed and shown mercy by God gratefully share our blessings and be merciful like the Father.
This statement was presented during CBCP Caritas Philippines' FB telethon live broadcast (click this link for the original video which starts from 32:30) in support for their Alay Pag-asa (Alay Kapwa) fundraising campaign. We would like to thank everybody for all your help and support in our Lent and Easter fundraising campaign this year. We have forwarded all our collections as donation and in support to Caritas Philippines' Alay Pag-asa fundraising campaign for Filipino families affected by typhoon Rai (Odette).
May Señor Santo Niño bless us all abundantly as we #GiveForward his blessings to others!
