May our Faith in Christ, who brings light into our souls, ignite the flame within our hearts to zealously share and proclaim with joy the Gospel we have received.
"The man on whom you see the Spirit come down and rest is the one who is going to baptise with the Holy Spirit" (Jn 1:33). Jesus Christ is that man referred to by God the Father speaking to John the Baptist in our Gospel today.
May the joy of this Gospel fills the hearts and lives of us all who encounter Jesus [Santo Niño]. May we accept his offer of salvation: set free from sin, sorrow, inner emptiness and loneliness. With Christ, let our joy be constantly born anew (cf. Evangelii Gaudium, #1).
May the love of Jesus which we have received, the experience of salvation, urges us to ever greater love of him and be the primary reason for evangelizing. What kind of love would not feel the need to speak of the beloved, to point him out, to make him known? If we do not feel an intense desire to share this love, we need to pray insistently that he will once more touch our hearts. We need to implore his grace daily, asking him to open our cold hearts and shake up our lukewarm and superficial existence. There is nothing more precious which we can give [to ourselves and] to others: (cf. Evangelii Gaudium, #264)
JESUS CHRIST, OUR SAVIOUR & KING, SANTO NIÑO.
VIVA PIT SEÑOR!!!
(Our theme is adapted from the message of Pope Francis’ 1st encyclical ‘Lumen Fidei’ (Light of Faith) and from his recent apostolic exhortation ‘Evangelium Gaudium’ (Joy of the Gospel). The words “the light of our souls” and “the flame in our hearts” are borrowed from the 1st verse of the song ‘Señor Santo Niño Hymn’ by E. Perez & S. Ezcurra.)
Sub-Themes (for the Nine-Days Novena):
Inflame our hearts, O Lord...
1st Day – That we may live and bear witness to our Faith
2nd Day – That we may love in the same way as You love us
3rd Day – That we may humbly serve one another
4th Day – That we may constantly renew & rebuild our lives
5th Day – That we may forgive one another as we have been forgiven
6th Day – That we may preserve God’s plan for marriage & family life
7th Day – That we may submit our obedience to God’s will
8th Day – That we may journey together towards fullness of life
9th Day – That we may anchor all our hope of happiness in God
