The organisers of Fiesta Señor 2020 in Leicester (Santo Niño Leicester), in line with the theme "Señor Santo Niño: Cause of Our Unity and Charity," have decided to donate all net proceeds (after all expenses) to Leicester City of Sanctuary.
In order to maximise our charitable response, we shall be soliciting from family & friends for this cause by distributing envelopes as ‘Halad kang Senor Santo Niño’ (tribute) in days leading to the Fiesta; and consolidating them by the end of January.
This is also in response to our Bishop Patrick’s call to ‘mission’ in a more practical and collective form: charity or work of mercy - in particular ‘I was a stranger and you welcomed me’ or sheltering the homeless / asylum to refugees (cf. Mt 25:35).
We hope that this would merit your kindness, support & generosity for this noble charitable cause.
VIVA PIT SENOR!!!
“[...] please also begin to consider whether as a parish, or as a group within your parish, you might pledge to support, with both prayer and some practical help, a homeless agency in your area. I know there are so many demands on your kindness, and I also know how generous the people of our diocese are. [...] in a rich and civilised country like this such homelessness is a disgrace. [...] in fulfilment of Christ’s challenge: ‘whatever you do for one of the least of these brothers and sisters of mine, you do for me.’”
